Working Together, One Drop at a Time

The Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth recently completed the creation of a new Distiller Room on the ground floor of the Mother House, allowing the SCL Community to produce nearly all of the distilled water used across campus onsite.

The project reflects both thoughtful stewardship and collaboration, bringing together the efforts of SCL Maintenance, Kim Calhoun from SCL Purchasing, Tammy O’Donnell, Executive Director of Health and Wellness for SCL, and Lloyd Hale, Director of SCL Facilities. Through careful planning and teamwork, the new space helps reduce reliance on external suppliers while supporting the campus’s daily needs more efficiently and sustainably.

The Distiller Room is another example of how practical improvements, carried out through shared effort, can strengthen the SCL Community’s commitment to responsible care for resources and the future.
