Farewell, Father Dennis Schaab, C. PP.S.

After 13 years of faithful service, Father Dennis Schaab, C.PP.S., concluded his ministry as Mother House priest on Monday, February 2, 2026. Sisters, Associates, staff, and friends gathered in O’Shea Conference Room for a farewell reception filled with gratitude, memories, and appreciation for a priest who has been a steady and compassionate presence within the SCL Community.

Known for his humility, loyalty, dry wit that surfaced at just the right moment, and quiet faithfulness, Father Dennis walked alongside the Sisters through moments of joy, sadness, and everything in between. He was more than a chaplain; he was a trusted friend who shared daily life, prayer, and conversation with care and sincerity.

Father Dennis is the second-longest serving chaplain at the Mother House, surpassed only by Father Thomas Downey, who served for 22 years. His presence, kindness, and pastoral care have left a lasting mark on the Community, and he will be deeply missed.
