Sister Therese Bangert, has recently been honored with the Delta Award from Donnelly College in Kansas City, Kansas. This accolade is bestowed upon individuals whose contributions epitomize the mission and values of Donnelly College. The award was presented during the college’s graduation ceremony on May 18 at Savior of the World Pastoral Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
The Delta Award recognizes Sister Therese’s contributions that align with Donnelly College’s mission to provide education and community services with a personal concern for the needs and abilities of each student, particularly those who might not otherwise be served. Donnelly College envisions advancing the common good by being the an accessible and transformative Catholic college, a vision that Sister Therese’s work mirrors.
Donnelly College’s values of truth, community, and excellence are pillars that Sister Therese has consistently upheld throughout her life. Her dedication to lifelong discovery and communication of truth is evident in her exploration of the intersections of faith and reason and her engagement in civil dialogue with all peoples.
Three other members of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Community— Sister Vickie Perkins and Associates Brad and Dawn Grabbs—have also been honored with the Delta Award in the past, highlighting the legacy of the SCL Community in promoting education, justice, and service to those on the margins.
