Summer Picnic Brings Sisters, Employees, and Families Together

The Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Mission Team hosted the annual SCL Summer Picnic on Saturday, June 6, 2026, welcoming Sisters, SCL employees, and their families for an afternoon of food, games, and togetherness.

Guests gathered to enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon, cookies, popcorn, cotton candy, and other treats while spending time together. Even though it was a rainy evening, the party was moved indoors, where children and families played yard games and colored.

The picnic continued a growing tradition of bringing the SCL Community together beyond daily work and routines. Although rainy weather moved the gathering indoors, the spirit of the afternoon remained joyful and welcoming. Sisters, employees, and family members spent time visiting, laughing, sharing meals, and enjoying one another’s company in a relaxed and festive atmosphere.
