Wood Chips Available

With spring weather in full swing, it is time to get our hands in the soil! One way that the SCL Community is seeking to become more sustainable this year is through composting our yard waste and food scraps.
A site has been selected away from any buildings where Sisters will not be disturbed by critters looking for a late-night snack, and we will prepare for compost soon.
In the meantime, a large pile of wood chips is at the site, located at the south baseball field parking lot off Sisters of Charity Drive. In the spirit of Integral Ecology, we would love for you to feel free to utilize this resource. Because these are natural wood chips, they should not be used to mulch around trees or next to a building foundation but would be excellent for vegetable beds, garden beds, and footpaths.
Sisters, Associates, and staff are invited to help themselves to the wood chips. They will have to be loaded and hauled on your own, so if you are interested, we recommend bringing your own shovel, pitchfork, gloves, etc.
