Day of Prayer for the Holy Land

from the Marillac Center Staff

Marillac Center invites SCLs and SCLAs to make Friday, December 1 a day of prayer for peace in the Holy Land.

Archbishop Naumann has appointed December 1 as an Archdiocesan Day of Prayer and Fasting for peace in the Holy Land. All of the faithful are encouraged to ask God to grant peace and stability in the midst of the present war between Hamas and Israel. Additionally, we are asked to invoke the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, under her title Queen of Palestine, and all the saints, for the needs of all those suffering from the conflict and continued violence.

from the Sisters of Charity of New York

Loving God, we pray for peace
to prevail over conflict,
understanding to triumph over hatred,
and compassion to conquer division.

Grant wisdom to leaders,
so they may seek paths of reconciliation and unity.
Strengthen the hearts of those who work tirelessly
for peace, and comfort those who have lost
loved ones in the midst of turmoil.

May your grace be felt by all who call these areas
home, and may they find strength in their shared
humanity to build bridges of understanding and
cooperation.

We ask this through Jesus
who calls us daily to be peacemakers.
Amen.
