New SCL Associates Welcomed in Joyful November Celebrations

The Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth joyfully welcomed five new Associates during two Initial Commitment ceremonies held this November. Surrounded by Sisters, Associates, family, and friends, each celebration reflected the spirit of community, prayer, and shared mission that grounds the Associate relationship.

On Sunday, November 16, Gail Doetzel, Jacquee Stubbings, Cynthia Walley, and Jim Walley made their Initial Commitment as SCL Associates during a prayerful gathering in Ross Chapel. The ceremony was followed by a reception in the O’Shea Conference Room, where guests congratulated the new Associates and shared in the joy of the day.

A second celebration followed on Thursday, November 20, as Christa Martin made her Initial Commitment during an evening ceremony, also held in Ross Chapel. Surrounded by supporters, Christa affirmed her desire to walk more deeply with the SCL Community through prayer, service, and the Vincentian spirit. A reception afterward offered time for heartfelt conversations and Community connection.

Christa Martin, center, is surrounded by support as she is accepted as an SCL Associate.

Across both gatherings, many Sisters, Associates, and guests were present, witnessing, blessing, and celebrating the commitment of these five new members. Their “yes” strengthens the shared mission of charity, justice, and accompaniment at the heart of the SCL Associate relationship.
