What's included in meals?
We have protein, starch, and vegetables for each meal, and a salad bar included with lunch and dinner. There are normally non-dairy options at each meal as well.
If I have food allergies, what do I do?
Our meals are provided by the food service staff that prepares meals for the Sisters and the University of Saint Mary. Most of our guests can find something in the offered meals that meets their needs. However, if your allergies are severe, we recommend bringing your own food to supplement. There are refrigerators and microwaves in the lounges on each guest floor.
Can we bring snacks?
Yes, guests are welcome to bring snacks. Coffee and tea are provided. We only ask that food stays in the lounge spaces or dining room and is not taken to guest rooms. We also request that instead of bringing plastic bottled water, guests bring a refillable container.
Are there specific arrival/departure times and procedures?
Arrival time is between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday-Friday. Because we have a brief orientation for groups, we ask that guests arrive no later than 4:00 pm. For departure, guests need to follow the directions on the yellow card in each room, leave their key cards on the room’s desk, and shut the door.
Cancellation policy
If a group needs to postpone their scheduled stay, their deposit is kept and credited toward their next stay with us. We ask for 2 weeks-notice to postpone a stay, however we understand weather or emergency cancellations may occur in a shorter timeframe.
Are guests allowed to walk the grounds?
Yes! The Marillac Retreat Center sits on more than 200 acres, sharing a campus with the Sisters of Charity and the University of Saint Mary. Guests have access to walking paths, a labyrinth, and a prayer grotto.
Is smoking allowed?
The entire campus of the Sisters of Charity, Marillac Center, and University of Saint Mary is smoke and tobacco free.
