Community Assembly: Through the Lens of Integral Ecology

The Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth gathered at the Mother House, July 27-29, 2023, for their assembly. The assembly began with Mass in Ross Chapel, followed by lunch on Thursday, July 27.

The theme for the assembly was “Through the Lens of Integral Ecology.” The gathering featured presentations that shared the latest activities to carry out the 2022 Chapter Directional Statement and further define the vision of integral ecology for the future.

Attendees heard reports on activities to strengthen the mission and vision of the SCL Community. The JPIC Office also presented their plans for future workshops.

The event was a productive time for Sisters to hear what progress the Leadership Council has made in their first year and plans to move forward through the lens of Integral Ecology. The assembly ended with a closing prayer, “Standing and Praying as Gospel-Centered Women,” on Saturday, July 29.
