Working to Protect Consumers
Our office is involved in statewide efforts with the Kansans for Payday Loan Reform coalition to bring attention to the issue of payday loans and to reform Kansas law to better protect consumers. While small dollar lending is important, particularly as few banks and credit unions offer small dollar loans, the regulatory environment must protect borrowers who often have nowhere else to turn to meet basic needs like housing, heat and air, water, and food.
