Care of Creation

Caring for Our Common Home

Care of creation invites everyone to join in restoring our relationship with the Earth. Grounded in a vision of ecological spirituality and justice, we are committed to accompanying the planet in its healing journey—from the land beneath our feet to the global systems we all share.

We focus on practical steps that create lasting change. Whether fostering ecological awareness to hosting events that inspire collective action, our work is guided by a holistic approach. Pope Francis’ call to care for our common home in his 2015 encyclical, Laudato Si’, serves as a cornerstone for our efforts. (Read Laudato Si’ here: Full Text)

In addition, the SCL Community has publicly committed to becoming a Laudato Si’ Action Platform community and becoming carbon neutral by 2030. The SCL Community also maintains an active committee that works to educate, advocate, and act on behalf of creation.

We encourage you to discover how you can be part of this vital movement for the Earth and all who call it home.
