Matthew’s gospel is outstanding for his special “speeches of Jesus” created from collections of Jesus’ discipleship teachings, responding to the desires of his followers, those he has called to share his mind and heart, and to strive to be their very best selves for God. He teaches us to live a life of holiness, that is a life of perfect love , and bring that love to everyone, to the Church, and to the world. In this retreat, we listen to Jesus reaching out to us, to help us open ourselves more fully to receive his beautiful and uplifting teachings on the love of God and God’s desire for our world, and our own responsibility of leadership, as we stretch out our own hands to the needy, and create Community, Church, wherever we go.
