Director of Associates
Job Summary:
The Director of Associates is a full-time position with the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth. This individual is responsible for the organization, development, and administration of the Associate Office and is accountable to the Community Director of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth or her designee and to the Associate Advisory Board.
Associates of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth are lay women and men who feel called to partner with the SCL Community to further the mission and Vincentian charism in the world. This extended Charity community allows for mutual support and enrichment as members strive to live the Gospel values through their Associate vocation. This position would offer ongoing support to the Associates and work with the Advisory Board and Council to promote the Mission and Vision of the Associates.
Job Duties:
- Build relationships with Associates and Sisters
- Collaborate with the SCL Leadership and the Associate Advisory Board to promote and continually develop the Associate community
- Meet regularly with the Community Director or her appointed liaison
- Oversee the application and initial formation process for new Associates
- Coordinate ongoing formation for all Associates: retreat experiences, programs and virtual experiences, resources and other materials
- Develop and oversee an annual budget for the Associate Office
- Maintain and update individual and general files, databases, directories, and the Associate website
- Recognize talents and skills of the Associates and promote leadership among the Associate community
- Continue to develop strong Associate bonds with the SCL Community through a mutually enriching relationship
- Collaborate with the Directors of Associate programs in the Charity Federation
- Participate in ongoing education and formation opportunities that will benefit the SCL Associate relationship, such as those offered by the Company of Charity Formation Personnel
- Travel to regional areas to support Associates and activities

Qualifications:
- Associate for a minimum of three years or has similar experience in a faith-based charism-driven organization
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Capacity to learn, understand, structure, and manage the responsibilities required of the Director of Associates
- Strong knowledge of and commitment to the SCL Mission and Vincentian charism
- Updated theology of the church and solid understanding of the role of the laity in the church as expressed in Vatican Council II and post Vatican Council II documents
- Understands the Associate vocation and call
- Demonstrates flexibility, versatility, initiative, diplomacy, dynamism, and enthusiasm
- Excellent written and spoken English; other relevant languages will be considered a plus
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with various entities related to the Associate Office such as the Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation Office, the SCL Communications Office, and SCL/SCLA Interest Groups to integrate and communicate Associate-related information in the ministry and mission of the SCL Community
- Understands and upholds the mission, charism, values, and language of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth
