Sister Mary Erwin Baker Award for Caring Behaviors
University of Saint Mary nursing student Jacqlynn Asherman shares a special moment with Sister Mary Erwin Baker at the Nursing Pinning Ceremony in Annunciation Chapel on May 9, when she was named the first recipient of the Sister Mary Erwin Baker Award for Caring Behaviors. The award, established by the 2008 Nursing Class in honor of Sister Mary Erwin Baker, is given to the graduating nursing student who best exemplifies the 5C’s of caring: compassion, competence, commitment, conscience, and confidence. The student is nominated by members of the class, and the final decision is made by the faculty.
