Preached Retreats
June 14 - 21, 2012 with Sister Kathleen Wood, SCL - 6 day
Jesus, his disciples and all who continue to follow Christ, are a people on a journey, a people of hospitality both offered and received. For Christians in the Lukan communities, to know and live Eucharist, indeed to be Eucharist, was to know, love and be the gospel of Jesus Christ (LaVerdiere). So it must be for us today. This retreat will be an exploration of Luke’s Gospel with reflection on the meaning of the Eucharist as revealed in the meals and journeys of Jesus Christ. Each day there will be two short conferences and optional prayer experiences.Kathleen Wood, SCL, currently a member of the Marillac team, recently retired from teaching Theology and Ministry at the University of Saint Mary, brings a wealth of understanding and appreciation of scripture and the spiritual life to share with retreatants. Sister Kathleen holds a Masters degree in Theology with a concentration in Scripture from Boston College and a Certificate in Religious Formation from St. Louis University.
July 6 - 8,2012 Joseph Schmidt, FSCPraying our Experiences One of the best ways to pray is to turn both worry and joy into prayer. This weekend retreat will provide the direction and opportunity to focus on our ordinary experiences and make them the context of our prayer. We will as many saints have recommended, pray with a pen. We will privately and prayerfully write about our experiences. We will open the gift of our life with its trials and joys, to offer worries and gratitude to God, all in a supportive, encouraging and quiet atmosphere. Please bring your journal and writing materials. 7 pm July 6 - noon on July 8. Fee: $150 includes Praying Our Experiences
