Sister Karen Guth will direct retreats thought the year as available.

Karen Guth, SCL, is actively involved in direction and retreat ministry and has facilitated workshops with women’s groups. Karen has an M.A. in Theology with emphasis in spirituality. She completed the Vincentian Spiritual Directors Program in Denver in 1998. She previously taught in Catholic schools; coordinated Making Choices, a program which trained women volunteers to mentor incarcerated women; and served as a team member at Marillac Center.

Sister Kathleen Wood will direct retreats throughout the year as available.

Kathleen Wood, SCL, a member of the Marillac staff,  and recently retired from teaching Theology and Ministry at the University of Saint Mary, brings a wealth of understanding and appreciation of Scripture and the spiritual life to share in retreats and spiritual direction.  She holds a Master’s degree in Theology with a concentration in Scripture from Boston College and a Certificate in Religious Formation from St. Louis University.

Sister Susan will direct retreats throughout the year as available.

Susan Chase, SCL, retreat coordinator of Marillac Center, completed the SoulJourners program in spiritual direction in 2010 with additional study of discernment and the Spiritual Exercises through the Ignatian Spirituality Center of Kansas City and the Art of Retreat Direction at Mercy Center, Burlingame, California.

Previously she taught biological sciences for 30 plus years at the University of Saint Mary with a special interest in the integration of faith with scientific understanding.

Marilyn Peot, CSJ, has been in full-time spiritual ministry since 1972. Trained in the art of listening, discernment and spiritual development, she has done extensive study in psychological and emotional development and in varied spiritualities, Scripture, and the Ignatian Exercises.  In addition to retreat work and spiritual direction she has initiated ongoing groups for prayer, Scripture study and inner healing.

John Foley, S.J. founded the first Cristo Rey School for inner city youth in 1996, was President of the Cristo Rey Network and is presently Executive Chair of the Network Board of Trustees.   During his 34 years ministering in Jesuit schools in Peru, Father Foley served as educator, administrator, spiritual director and retreat director.  He is fluent in Spanish.

Tom Nelson, CM, lives in Denver, Colorado where he is chaplain for the Colorado Vincentian Volunteers, co-ordinates the Catholic Worker Soup Kitchen, and ministers to the Native American Community.  He also serves as adjunct faculty at the Naropa University in Boulder, and directs 8 and 30-Day retreats nationally and internationally.

Helen Ann Collier, CCVI, a Sister of Charity of the Incarnate Word., earned certificates in spiritual direction from Mercy Center, Burlingame, CA and Mercy Center, Colorado Springs.  She served as Associate Director/ Spiritual Director at the Sangre De Cristo Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico and as a spiritual director in the MTM sabbatical program at the Oblate School of Theology.    Sister Helen Ann’s ministry experience has included education, parish ministry and health care.  She has served on the Provincial Leadership Team in her community both as Provincial and Director of Ministry. and recently as Administrator of the Generalate in San Antonio currently she ministers in the St. Louis area.
