Women interested in becoming Sisters of Charity are involved in a process of formation that includes instruction, guidance, prayer, work and active involvement with other Sisters through community living.

Currently, there are eight women involved in the formation process with the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, both in the United States and Peru.

Meet the Women in Formation

Rejane Cytacki is a third year Candidate.  Rejane is originally from Prairie Village, KS.  She lived at our Xavier House in Kansas City, KS before entering our community. The Xavier House, while not designed specifically for women interested in religious life, offers young women an opportunity to experience intentional community living with Sisters and other young women.  Rejane’s education included a Bachelors in Anthropology and Theology, and a Masters in Curriculum Development.  She taught for four years at TA Edison in Kansas City before entering.  She currently is living and teaching in Denver, Co.

Sister Jennifer Gordon is under temporary vows.  Sister Jennifer is from Alexandria, VA, however, she lived at our Xavier House in Denver for two years before entering our community.  Sister Jennifer came to us with a degree in Public Policy Studies, and will complete her MBA in May.  Currently, she is the Clinic Manager at St. Vincent Clinic in Leavenworth.

Sister Juli Smith is a canonical novice.  She came to us from Billings, MT with a degree in math.  Before entering, Sister Juli worked at Big Sky Disaster Restoration in Billings where she worked to restore houses damaged by floods or fires. She will graduate in May with a degree in Pastoral Ministry from the University of Saint Mary.
